On March 13, 2019, Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra’s Technology Group Partners, Mark S. Gorriceta, Board Member and Corporate Secretary of FinTech Philippines Association (FinTech PH), and Edsel F. Tupaz, Head of Industry Sandbox Committee of FinTech PH, presented FinTech PH’s plans and programs before the Philippine government’s Inter-Agency FinTech Commission. The Inter-Agency FinTech Commission is composed of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Securities and Exchange Commission, Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Insurance Commission.
FinTech PH also discussed its plans on its Industry Sandbox project. This project is aimed at opening dialogue between government and industry in dealing with emerging technologies that are not yet clearly subject to regulation.
