ANDRE JOSE H. SURIGAO
Junior Associate
ANDRE JOSE H. SURIGAO is a Junior Associate and a member of the Labor, Litigation, Taxation, and Corporate Services departments of the firm.
Andre’s practice areas include labor law, litigation, intellectual property, government procurement, taxation, and general corporate law. As part of the labor and litigation groups, he represents various clients involved in civil, criminal and labor cases. He handles tax-related matters before the Court of Tax Appeals and the Bureau of Internal Revenue. He has experience in intellectual property law and assists clients in their application for the registration of trademarks, both in the Philippines and internationally. His practice includes assisting clients in public bidding and government procurement projects.
Andre received his Juris Doctor (Non-Thesis) from San Beda University in 2021 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2022. During his legal studies, he was a member of the San Beda University Bar Operations, where he was a Remedial Law Subject Head. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, where he graduated cum laude.
Andre’s recent transactions include:
- Preparation of initiatory and responsive pleadings in civil, criminal, and labor cases, including preparation of appeals and petitions before collegiate courts, i.e. Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Sandiganbayan, and Court of Tax Appeals;
- Appearing in various courts of different levels, to conduct direct and cross-examination of witnesses, including the Sandiganbayan.
- Preparation of technical and financial documents for public bidding in government procurement projects; and,
- Drafting of contracts, such as deeds of sale, contracts of lease, and licensing agreements, among others.
