GABRIEL G. TABETA is a Junior Associate and a member of the Data Privacy, Cybersecurity and AI, Taxation, Technology Media and Telecommunications Departments of the Firm
Gabriel is involved in the various data privacy and AI initiatives of the Firm, working with foreign and domestic clients to ensure their projects and operations comply with the country’s data privacy regulations. Gabriel also assists in processing reportorial requirements for businesses looking to make their entry into the Philippine market.
He has obtained the ISO/IEC 27701 Foundation certification from PECB, a global provider of professional standards and training. He advises clients on compliance, risk management, and best practices in data protection and security.
Gabriel graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, where he was a scholar of the Teehankee Center for the Rule of Law and earned Second Honors.
During his time in Ateneo, Gabriel participated in several local and international moot court competitions. Gabriel and his teammates represented Ateneo Law in the Red Cross National Moot Court Competition on IHL, Stetson International Law Moot Court Competition, IBA-ICC Moot Court, and Jessup 2023. He continues to mentor and support Ateneo Law moot court teams as an alumni coach and consultant.
Gabriel’s recent transactions include:
• Handling local permit and reportorial requirements for foreign business entities.
• Drafting motions and legal memoranda for contentious cases before administrative agencies.
• Reviewing commercial contracts for data privacy regulatory compliance.
• Drafting position papers on contentious topics of law involving AI, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
