GERARD CEASAR S. BAGUIO
Junior Associate
GERARD CEASAR S. BAGUIO is a Junior Associate and a member of the Taxation, Litigation, and Real Estate Departments of the Firm.
Gerard’s practice includes assisting and representing individuals and corporations in tax assessment cases before the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Court of Tax Appeals, VAT refund applications, sale, and transfer of property, and estate settlement. Prior to joining the Firm, he worked as an Audit Associate at KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co. for almost 2 years.
Gerard served as the Comptroller and President of the Iloilo Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants in 2013 and 2014, respectively. During his legal studies, he served as the Treasurer of the San Beda University – Law Student Government for A.Y. 2018-19 and as Vice President of External Affairs for A.Y.s 2019-20 and 2020-21. He was a member of the Taxation Law and Civil Law Committee of the San Beda University Bar Operations.
He graduated with a degree in B.S. Accountancy from the University of the Philippines – Visayas in 2015 and passed the CPA Board Examinations in October of the same year. He received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from San Beda University Law School in 2021 and passed the Bar Examinations with Exemplary Performance in 2022.
Gerard’s recent transactions include:
- Preparation of an administrative protest to tax assessments by the Bureau of Internal Revenue;
- Preparation of pleadings and motions in tax cases pending before the Court of Tax Appeals;
- Preparation and documentation of VAT Refund Applications of renewable energy corporations;
- Various estate settlements, estate tax amnesty cases, and estate planning;
- Various electronic Certificates Authorizing Registration applications for the transfer and sale of shares and real property;
- Various contract reviews for energy corporations;
- Incorporation and registration of corporations before relevant government agencies and local government units;
- Preparation of pleadings and affidavits for annulment cases; and
- Preparation of pleadings and motions for administrative cases before quasi-judicial agencies.
