Hans Richmond R. Ong

HANS RICHMOND R. ONG is a Junior Associate and a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Services, Technology Media and Telecommunications, Data Privacy Cybersecurity and AI, and Intellectual Property Departments of the Firm. He currently holds an ISO 27701 foundation certification.

Hans’ recent transactions include:

– Assisted with mergers and acquisitions transactions, including a significant investment by a prominent private equity firm into a leading non-banking financial institution.

– Conducted legal due diligence for acquisition transactions and aided in the facilitation of necessary regulatory permits, licenses, and court clearances during acquisitions.

– Aided in the preparation and processing of secondary license applications for non-bank financial institutions with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

– Assisted in managing Technology, Media, and Telecommunications matters, including reviewing and revising commercial contracts, customer-facing agreements, internal company policies, service and outsourcing agreements; reviewed contracts related to digital assets.

– Supported Data Privacy matters, such as registration and compliance with the National Privacy Commission (NPC), conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), reviewing company privacy documents and security controls, and assisting in the development of an end-to-end privacy solution for a leading telecommunications company.

Hans was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2023. He received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the Ateneo Law School, graduating with honors. In law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief for The Palladium, the Official School Newspaper of the Ateneo Law School. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Management from the Ateneo de Manila University.
